Abstract

In accordance with the preferred embodiments of the present invention, a method () and an apparatus for enabling discontinuous transmission feature on a mobile station () are described herein. The apparatus generally includes a transmitting unit () and a controller (). The controller () is operable to control transmission of mobile information via a first communication resource of a reverse link () in response to a trigger event. Accordingly, the transmitting unit () is operable to transmit mobile information via a second communication resource of the reverse link (). The second communication resource is operable for discontinuous transmission.
