Abstract

The invention relates to a transmission method in a communication system. In order to devise a mechanism for providing seamless connections in an efficient way, location-dependent parameter sets are utilized, each parameter set containing at least one parameter indicative of the location of a mobile node. A group of variables associated with the mobile node is monitored, the group containing at least one variable of which at least one is derived from said parameters. The current value of said at least one variable is compared with predetermined first criteria, and a multicast-based operation mode is selected when said at least one variable meets the predetermined first criteria. In the multicast-based operation mode, data destined for the mobile node is transmitted (1) to the current access point and (2) to a set of potential new access points prior to a handover. ()
