Abstract

In a multi-piece solid golf ball comprising a solid core, an intermediate layer, and a cover, the intermediate layer has a gage Gof 0.8–2 mm and a Shore D hardness of 50–65, the cover has a gage Gof 0.5–1.3 mm and a Shore D hardness of 37–53, and the intermediate layer gage Gand the cover gage Gsatisfy [G/(G+G)]×100≧45%. Upon full shots with a driver, the ball gains a reduced spin rate and an increased initial velocity, which lead to an increase in travel distance.
