Abstract

A card connector () comprises a first insulative frame () fixed to a mounting surface (), and a second metal frame () defining an insertion cavity () for a card () between the mounting surface () and the second frame (). The second frame () is of a channel shape, and has first and second side walls (). An inverted card insertion preventing projection () for preventing the card () from being inserted upside down into the insertion cavity () is provided on one of the first and second side walls (). The inverted card insertion preventing projection () projects in an area (A) of the insertion cavity () associated with the first half of a card inserting stroke.
