Abstract
In a cooling unit for an engine comprising a cylinder blockhaving a water jacketwhich opens into the surface of the cylinder blockand which circulates a cooling water in surrounding relationship with a cylinder bore, and a gasketheld sandwiched between the cylinder head and the cylinder blockto seal therebetween, the gasketis provided with a control boardwhich project into the water jacketfor controlling a flow of the cooling water, the control boardbeing formed to be arcuate in conformity to the profile of the water jacketand disposed toward the intake port.
