In a disc cartridge for an optical disc and the like, to increase stiffness in an opening for a record and reproduction mechanism. A disc cartridgehas an upper shell, a center frame, and a lower shellclamped to one another. A center frame openingand a lower shell openingexpose a recording surface of a recording medium contained between the center frameand the upper shelldownwardly, and a reinforcing memberintegrally couples the ends of the center frame openingand a lower shell reinforcing memberintegrally couples the ends of the lower shell opening
