Abstract
The invention relates to a housing () for a key, especially for use in motor vehicles. Said housing consists of electric and electronic components () disposed therein and arranged at least partially on a plate (); a recess which can be covered by an elastic keypad () comprising at least one key (). According to the invention, a support () is associated with the keypad () for retention on said housing (). The keypad () surrounds the support () which is disposed beneath the keypad with a peripheral edge (), whereby the elastic edge () is supported on a shoulder () of the housing () and the edge () is pressed against the shoulder () of said housing in a sealing manner by retaining means ().
