Abstract

A flow control valve () such as for a catheter () allows discharge of urine from a bladder () by manual actuation. The valve () may be a double-duckbill valve () with a single slit () at one apex () thereof. An elastomeric band () is positioned in a groove () of the valve member (). An isolation member such as a stem () spaces the valve () from the walls () of the valve housing (). Crush limiting structure, such as a tube () or blade (), is provided within valve member (), or stop elements (or) are positioned external to valve member ().
