Abstract
A socket device according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a tubular main bodymade of an electrically insulating material. The tubular main bodyprovides a lamp-loading holehaving an opening at upper end, through which a baseless lampis inserted. A notchis formed in a wall of the tubular main body, which extends downward from the opening of the lamp-loading holealong an axis of the tubular main body. A flange portionis provided around the tubular main bodyat a portion spaced from the lower end of the notch. First and second protrusionsare provided on both sides of the notch portionon the outer surface of the tubular main body. An electrically conducting connecting memberhaving a terminal pieceis provided so that the base portionof the terminal pieceis inserted in the lamp-loading hole and a leading portion of the terminal piecepasses through the notch portionextending to a position between the first and the second protrusions
