Abstract
A printed, endless web is transversely cut by the cooperation of a cutting blade cylinder and a sheet gripping cylinder that also carries cutting blocks. If the web that is to be cut, is noted as having a defect, for example in the printing applied to it, the cutting blades can be withdrawn into the cutting blade cylinder and the deflective web can be diverted away from the folding apparatus.
