Abstract
To enable selective use of a sheet path for sheet inversion and a substantially linear sheet path for a recording medium of a high rigidity, thereby enabling to pass a recording medium of a large thickness or a high rigidity in a simple configuration without an increase in the dimension of the apparatus and in an attached state of a sheet inversion unit. A first sheet path extending from a 21 sheet conveying roller through a sheet inversion unitand returning to the sheet conveying roller, and a second sheet pathextending substantially linearly at an upstream side of the sheet conveying roller are provided, a part of the first sheet path and the second sheet path is formed by a common sheet path, and a movable flapfor switching the sheet paths is provided in the shared sheet path.
