An evaporative fuel adsorbent, which adsorbs evaporative fuel, is positioned substantially parallel to a sidewall surfaceof a surge tank. A retention memberis positioned between the sidewall surfaceand evaporative fuel adsorbentto prevent oil, which runs down on the sidewall surface, from adhering to the evaporative fuel adsorbent. The evaporative fuel adsorbentis mounted on the sidewall surfaceof the surge tankvia the retention member
