Abstract
A communication deviceand a corresponding method are arranged for changing the radiation pattern of an antenna, where the radiation pattern of the antennais set to a half-space pattern if the communication deviceis in close proximity to an object. A reflectoris activated to produce the half space radiation pattern. The reflectoris deactivated to produce the full space pattern. A switching devicedetermines the state of the reflector. A sensing and control devicecontrols the state of the switching device
