Abstract

Topically applicable, non-pilling UV-photoprotecting cosmetic/dermatological sunscreen compositions, advantageously alcoholic sunscreen gels, well suited for UV-photoprotecting human skin and/or hair against the damaging and deleterious effects of ultraviolet irradiation, contain an effective amount of at least one UV-A and/or UV-B screening agent and an effective non-pilling amount of an acrylates/Calkylmethacrylate copolymer, preferably a tetrapolymer of methacrylic acid, methyl methacrylate, butyl acrylate and cetyl-eicosinyl methacrylate, formulated into a topically applicable, cosmetically/dermatologically acceptable vehicle, diluent or carrier therefor.
