The natural gas is successively contacted in column CA with a relatively methanol-rich solvent flowing in through linethen with a relatively poor solvent flowing in through lineThe acid gas-containing solvent recovered through lineat the bottom of column CA is expanded through valves Vand Vto release acid gases through lineA fraction of the expanded solvent is distilled in column CR. The regenerated solvent obtained at the bottom of column CR is sent to the top of column CA through lineA second fraction of the expanded solvent is mixed with a solvent drawn off from column CR at an intermediate point between the bottom and the top of this column. This mixture of solvents is sent through lineinto column CA.
