Abstract

A vehicle mirror assemblyis provided. The vehicle mirror assemblycomprises a basecomprising a first base ellipsoidal portionhaving a constant first minor axis' and a major longitudinal axis. The basefurther comprises a second base ellipsoidal portionhaving a second base minor axis″ and sharing the major longitudinal axis. The first minor axis′ and said second minor axis″ are merged to form a common minor axis. The major longitudinal axisintersects the common minor axisin a position non-coincidental with a center of said common minor axis. The mirror assemblyfurther includes a dome lensconforming to the base. The dome lenscomprises a first surface elliptical portionhaving a longitudinal axis radius of curvature Rtaken along the major longitudinal axisand a first minor radius of curvature Rtaken along the first minor axis′. The first surface elliptical portionconforms to the first base ellipsoidal portion. The dome lensfurther includes a second surface elliptical portionhaving the longitudinal axis radius of curvature Rtaken along the major longitudinal axisand a second minor radius of curvature Rtaken along the second minor axis″. The second surface elliptical portionconforms to the second base ellipsoidal portion
