A beacon () adapted for use in an arrangement () for providing an information service, comprising a storage () for storing data related to the information service, local communication means () for establishing a short range communication link () with a mobile device (), and a processor () adapted for autonomously performing the service based on the data in the storage () with the mobile device () using the short range communication link ().
