Abstract

A device and method of ventilating a patient reduces the bias flow relative to existing oscillatory ventilators. The device has a gas flow circuit including an oscillating line, a patient line and an exhalation or a return line. A gas supply line and an outlet valve are in pneumatic communication with the gas flow circuit. One or more COscrubbers and one or more check valves are provided in the circuit. A method of ventilating using such a device is also disclosed.
