Abstract
The present invention relates to a telecommunication system giving the option to a user (A) to select desired services. A switched domain () for transmission of data packets has switches (SW), to which service providers (), and network terminals (NTNT) are connected. The switches have a user port (Pf) through which one single physical connection is connected to an uplink port (Pe) in the network terminal (NT). The user port (Pf) is configured for the different service providers () and the network terminals have corresponding service ports (Pc,Pd). The user (A) or an operator (OP) configures the service ports (Pc,Pd) which corresponds to the desired services (). Using a policy server (PS), which is connected to the network terminals (NT) the traffic in these can be given priority. The data packets in the traffic which requires real time transmission, for example television (), is given priority before data traffic on Intranet ().
