Abstract

A wireless control system uses wireless communications that include a plurality of channels and that are shared between a plurality of wireless communication devices. The wireless control system generates and transmits a first control message that allows first access to one of the channels for one of the wireless communication devices. The wireless control system receives a termination message indicating termination of the first access. The wireless control system processes the termination message to determine an amount of time for a second access to the one of the channels for the one of the wireless communication devices. The wireless control system then generates and transmits a second control message that allows the second access and indicates the amount of time. In other embodiments, the termination message indicates a number of packets or bytes remaining to be transmitted.
