Abstract

A male housing () has a receptacle () for receiving a female housing (). An introducing surface () is formed around the inner front edge of the receptacle (). A retainer () for locking female terminal fittings has an interfering portion () that interferes with the receptacle () when the retainer () is at an incomplete mount position IMP. The interfering portion () has a guiding surface () for guiding the interfering portion () into the receptacle () when the retainer () is a full locking position. The interfering portion () has contact surfaces () and the inner front edge of the receptacle () has receiving surfaces () at positions corresponding to the contact surfaces () and backward from the introducing surface (). The receiving surfaces () can achieve surface contact with the contact surfaces ().
