Abstract
A hub connects groups of nodes to form a separate communication loop permitting access to the full bandwidth of the separate communication loop. The switching hub may operate from a subset of the messages defined in the Fiber Channel arbitrated loop protocol while allowing the nodes to use the full protocol.
