Abstract

A silver halide photosensitive material comprises a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer on a support. The photosensitive material has a layer comprising an emulsified dispersion containing a surfactant represented by formula (I), and an emulsion containing tabular silver halide grains having an average aspect ratio of 8 or greater, and at least one sensitizing dye.(R-LJA)  General formula (I)wherein A represents an acid group or a metal salt thereof, Rrepresents an aliphatic group containing a linear aliphatic group having 6 or more carbon atoms as a partial structure thereof and having the total number of carbon atoms of 17 or more, L represents a bivalent group, J represents a linking group of n+m valence, n is an integer of 1 to 6, and m is an integer of 1 to 3. The molecular weight of surfactant of the formula (I) divided by m is 430 or greater.
