Abstract

In a piston pump for providing high-pressure fuel in a common-rail fuel injection system including a camshaft (), which is mounted rotatably in a pump housing () and which has at least one eccentric cam) for operating a pump piston () in an approximately radial direction with respect to the camshaft (), in order to reduce the wear of the piston pump, a piston-rod element () is arranged between each pump piston () and the eccentric cam () so as to transmit the stroke movement () and the force from the eccentric cam of the camshaft () to the pump piston () by a rolling movement.
