A light weight cable bead coreis described having an inner coremade of a metal wirewith an outer sheathof steel cord wires. Each cordis made of a plurality of filaments. The bead coreis particularly suited for heavy-duty service conditions in tiresfor aircraft, off-road equipment, and commercial trucks.
