Abstract

Superradiance is generated by generating coherent radiation in the 10 gigahertz (10) to terahertz (10) regions of the electromagnetic spectrum. The radiation is produced by pulsing a micro crystal of a molecular magnet in a cavity or between a pair of superconductor mirrors at Kelvin or milli-Kelvin temperatures. The coherence and source of the radiation result from enhanced quantum mechanical spin tunneling. Alternatively, the radiation may be obtained by moving the crystal in and out of the field of a permanent magnet.
