Abstract

Method for operating an internal combustion engine in which fuel is injected into a combustion chamber by an injector. The injector has a drivable piezo-actuator. A setpoint value is generated for driving the piezo-actuator. A setpoint charge quantity (QC) is determined from the setpoint value, and an actual charge quantity (QC) supplied to the piezo-actuator is determined. The setpoint charge quantity (QC) and the actual charge quantity (QC) are combined, and the combined result (S) acts upon the drive circuit of the piezo-actuator.
