Abstract

A reflecting-mirror-equipped lampincluding a high pressure discharge lampand a reflecting mirror. An openingof the reflecting mirroris provided with a front glassand two air holes (and) are formed through the reflecting mirror. The air holes (and) are provided on a cross section () including a luminous bulb. If the cross sectionis divided into regions (I through IV) consisting of first, second, third and fourth quadrants with respect to the luminous bulb, the air holes (and) are respectively provided in two quadrants diagonal to each other, i.e., in the first and third quadrants, respectively, or in the second and fourth quadrants, respectively.
