Abstract
A slider (), a slider insertion apparatus () and a method for inserting the slider () on an interlocked fastener or zipper () of a reclosable bag (). A loading rack () feeds individual sliders () to the slider insertion apparatus () wherein the slider () is inserted on the interlocked profiles () being held by a zipper guide (). After insertion, a keeper () and retaining shoulders () of the slider () secure an interlocking member () of the profile () from unintentional engagement with an interlocking member () of the opposing profile (). A positioner () is used to move the inserted slider () and/or to move the attached reclosable bag () in conjunction with driving rollers () of a vertical form-fill-and-seal machine.
