Abstract
An ultrasonic power meter is provided for measuring ultrasonic power emitted by a device () under test. The meter includes a casing forming a chamber () within which an ultrasonic absorber () formed from polyurethane material is located. Overlying the absorber () is a membrane () of polyvinylidene fluoride which acts as a pyroelectric detector. The meter also includes a transfer medium (), typically water, for allowing the transfer of ultrasonic energy emitted from a device () under test to the meter.
