Abstract
A reactor including a rotatable disc () having a surface () onto which reactant () is supplied by way of a feed (). The disc () is rotated at high speed, and the reactant () spills over the surface () so as to form a film (). A shear member () is mounted close to the surface () so as to contact the film () during operation of the reactor, thereby applying a shearing force to the reactant () so as to aid mixing.
