Abstract

The insulation displacement terminalis retained on the terminal retainer portionof the main housing. The leadof the insulation displacement terminalis soldered to the first surfaceof the circuit boardthrough the bottom plateof the main housingand the circuit board, which is held in the second retaining spacebetween the main housingand second cover housing. After the insulation displacement terminalin such a subassembly state is connected by insulation displacement with a desired portion of the insulated wire, the first cover housingis combined with the main housing. The receiving portionof the second cover housingreceives the insulation displacement load via the bottom plateof the main housingand the circuit board. This enables the inadvertent bending of the bottom plateand circuit boardto be prevented, the reliable insulation displacement connecting of the connector with the insulated wire to be attained, and the so-called in-housing insulation displacement connecting of the connector with the insulated wire to be substantially carried out.
