Abstract

An electrooptic device has a first substrateand a second substratedisposed to oppose each other, and liquid crystalprovided between the first substrateand the second substrate. This electrooptic device has a sealing materialsurrounding the liquid crystaland wirescontinuously extending along one side of the first substrateto another side intersecting said one side. The wireseach have a first wire layer which is continuously formed in the inside region of the sealing materialand the outside region of the sealing materialor which is continuously formed in the region overlapping the sealing materialand the outside region of the sealing material; and a second wire layerwhich is formed in the inside region of the sealing materialor the region overlapping the sealing material. Since being not exposed to outside air, the second wire layeris not corroded.
