Abstract

To provide a transmitter suitable for making it possible to change the identification information for a drive by using the data transmitted from a transmitter. The transmitter comprises a data generation device for alternately generating the data for controlling operations of a drive or the data for changing the identification information for the drive in accordance with an operation of a predetermined input unit performed by a user, a transmission device including a first transmission section and a second transmission section provided on positions different from each other on a casing for covering a transmitter and capable of transmitting the generated data from the transmission sections, and a transmission-section change device for changing transmission sections used for data transmission in accordance with the type of data so that the data for controlling operations of the drive is transmitted from the first transmission section and the data for changing the identification information for the drive is transmitted from the second transmission section.
