Abstract
A passenger conveyor () with a running belt () contains a frame (). A main running belt drive () is mounted on the frame () and contains a drive shaft () and at least one running belt driving wheel that is connected to the drive shaft. A drive unit contains a driving motor () and a step-down gear (). The output of the step-down gear () is connected to the input of the main running belt drive (). The driving motor () is mounted on the housing () of the step-down gear (), with the driving motor () and the step-down gear () forming a drive unit (), and the drive unit () is supported by the main running belt drive ().
