Abstract
In a device for producing an image with a high light intensity by an image reproduction apparatus () which contains light valves, a light source comprising a light-emitting diode matrix () is provided for background lighting of the image reproduction apparatus (). An optical device () for focussing and scattering the light which is produced by the light-emitting diode () is arranged between the light source () and the image reproduction apparatus ().
