Abstract

The present invention relates to a process for preparing 2-(pyridin-4-ylamino-pyrido [2,3-d]pyrimidine of Formula IIby reacting a 4-aminopyridine of the formulawith a 2-(4-imino-4H-pyridin-1-yl)-pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine of Formula Iin the presence of a base. It also relates to an alternative process for preparing a compound of Formula II by reacting the aminopyridine hereinabove within a unreactive organic solvent. It also relates to the compound of Formula III.
