Abstract

The present invention provides an illuminating apparatus capable of carrying out an illumination operation excellently by guiding the light from light sources to an illuminating member efficiently, and having a low price. The illuminating apparatus is provided with a pointeradapted to be turned around a rotary shaft, a dialpositioned on a rear side of the pointerand constituting a display member to be transmission illuminated, light-emitting diodespositioned on a rear side of the dialand in the vicinity of the rotary shaftand constituting light sources for illuminating index portionsof the dial, a casepositioned on the rear side of the dialand constituting a reflector provided with a reflecting portion, and a light guide memberpositioned on the rear side of the dialand adapted to guide the light from the light-emitting diodesto the rear side of the dial. A hollow portionis formed between a rear surface of the dialand case, and an irradiation portionadapted to apply the light to the interior of the hollow spaceis provided on the light guide member, the light from the light-emitting diodesbeing applied from the irradiation portionof the light guide memberto the interior of the hollow portion, reflected on the reflecting portionand illuminating the index portionsof the dial
