Abstract
A device () which assists a person (P) in working on the engine (E) of a vehicle (V) includes a base member () which rests on the ground and has a socket () extending upwardly therefrom. A post assembly () includes a stem portion () which is selectively positionable within the socket (). The stem portion () is provided with a plurality of opposed spaced apertures (), and a pin () is inserted through a selected of the opposed apertures () and through apertures in the socket () to adjust the height of the device (). A step () is carried by the stem portion () at a selected height by a pin () received through the selected apertures () and through apertures in a flange () carried by the step (). A platform () is pivotally attached near the top of the post assembly () by a pin () and the angular orientation of the platform () can be adjusted and maintained by a pin () selectively positioned in one of a plurality of apertures () formed in mounting plates () attached to the post assembly ().
