Abstract
In an injection pump element, a communication route for communicating an injection pipeconnected to a fuel liquid outletand an inner peripheral surface of a plunger barrelis formed by a purge passageformed in a delivery valve seat, a purge passageformed in the plunger barrel, and a purge port. When the injection pump elementis in a non-injection state, the plungeris rotated circumferentially to such a rotational position that a purge grooveformed in an outer peripheral surface of the plungerand a purge portformed in an inner peripheral surface of the plunger barrelare communicated to each other. The purge grooveis communicated to a fuel galleryvia a holeand a notch. When the injection pump elementis in the non-injection state, the injection pipeis communicated to the fuel galleryeven if the delivery valveis closed.
