Abstract
The invention provides a process for producing a fluorine-containing compound from an inexpensive material. Namely, Compound I such as RCHOH is reacted with Compound II such as XCORto form Compound III such as RCHOCOR, followed by fluorination in a liquid phase to form Compound IV such as RCFOCOR, which is converted to Compound V such as RCOF and/or Compound VI such as RCOF. Ris an alkyl group or the like, Ris a perhalogenoalkyl group or the like, Rand Rare fluorinated Rand R, and X is halogen.
