Abstract
A buttonhole sewing machine comprises a top arm () with a needle () movable in up and down reciprocation and a base plate (). A buttonhole cutting device () is provided, having a knife () which is disposed on the base plate () and comprises a straight cutting edge () that extends in the y direction and an eye cutting edge (). A cutting block () cooperates with the knife (). The knife () and the cutting block () are motor-adjustable one in relation to the other in the y direction.
