Abstract
A housing () has cavities () for receiving terminal fittings (), and a lock () is provided in each cavity (). The terminal fitting () temporarily resiliently deforms the lock () when the terminal fitting () is inserted into the cavity (). The lock () then is restored resiliently to engage the terminal fitting () when the terminal fitting () reaches a proper depth. An outer wall () of the terminal fitting () facing the lock () has a locking projection () projecting toward and engageable with the lock (). A recess () is formed in a surface of the lock () that slides in contact with the locking projection () in an inserting process. An arcuate surface () of the locking projection () and a bottom surface () of the recess () have substantially conforming shapes.
