Abstract

A connector has a housing () with cavities () for receiving terminals (). A lock () projects is provided in each cavity () and has a forwardly tapered locking surface () that is sloped to project more forward at the base than at the top. The connector also has a retainer () with a restricting plate () to prevent displacement of the locks () toward deformation spaces (). Push-up protrusions () of the restricting plate () slip under the lower surfaces of the locks () as the retainer () is pushed towards a full locking position and push the locks () up towards cavities (). A cam action of the sloped locking surfaces () pushes the female terminals () forward and against front walls ().
