Abstract
The present invention discloses an apparatus and method for controlling an operation of an outdoor unit which can efficiently control the outdoor unit by mounting sensors on the outdoor unit. The apparatus for controlling the operation of the outdoor unit includes: a pressure sensor for sensing a pressure of refrigerants in an outlet of a compressor of the outdoor unit; a temperature sensor for sensing a temperature of the refrigerants in an outlet of a condenser; and a microcomputer for comparing the pressure from the pressure sensor and the temperature from the temperature sensor with optimal pressure and temperature ranges, and controlling operation conditions of at least a blast fan and the compressor in the outdoor unit to be inversely proportional to each other according to the comparison results.
