Abstract

A chair includes a seat portion(B), a seat support(B) supporting the seat portion, a rear seat support(B) extending rearwardly upwardly relative to the seat support(B), and a slide mechanism X(moving mechanism XB) for causing the seat portion(B) to slide back and forth relative to the seat support(B). The chair is provided with a locking mechanismC for locking the seat portionC at a desired position in the fore-and-aft direction selectively, and a leverC for operating the locking mechanismC, the leverC being located at a position allowing the leverC to move together with the seat portionC in the fore-and-aft direction.
