Abstract
A broadband gatewaythat combines a broadband modemand a residential gatewayin a single unit. The single unit features a unique dual bridge, shared module architecture that reduces redundancy in the broadband gatewayat the same time it minimizes interactions between modules in the broadband gateway. This minimized interaction permits the broadband gatewayto operate at peak efficiency and allows for continued development of portions of the broadband gatewaywithout necessarily incurring compliance testing for the broadband portion of the broadband gateway
