Abstract
Disclosed herein is a cooling roll which can provide bonded a magnet having excellent magnetic properties and having excellent reliability. A melt spinning apparatusis provided with a tubehaving a nozzleat the bottom thereof, a coilfor heating the tube and a cooling rollhaving a circumferential surfacein which gas expelling groovesare formed. A melt spun ribbonis formed by injecting the molten alloyfrom the nozzleso as to be collided with the circumferential surfaceof the cooling roll, so that the molten alloyis cooled and then solidified. In this process, gas is likely to enter between a puddleof the molten alloyand the circumferential surface, but such gas is expelled by means of the gas expelling grooves
