Abstract
An evaporatorof an air conditioner comprises a refrigerant entrance portand a refrigerant exit port. A division wallof the evaporator is extended to form a housing. The housingcomprises an inletfor the refrigerant traveling from a compressor, an outletcommunicating with the entrance portof the evaporator, and a refrigerant pathreturning from the evaporator. The cassette unitcomprises a pipe member, a flange memberand a lid member, with major components of the expansion valve such as a diaphragm and a driving member for driving a valve means assembled thereto. The cassette unitis accommodated in a holewith steps of the housingto complete the expansion valve.
