Abstract
Known drinking troughs with drinking valves (), which are assigned to a water-supply line (), and water-collecting bowls () assigned to said drinking valves are problematic when it comes to supplying young chicks automatically with water. Known drinking troughs have proven unsuitable for young turkey chicks. The invention proposes a drinking trough which is also suitable for young turkey chicks. This drinking trough is distinguished in that valve pins for opening the drinking valves () are assigned elongate, tubular actuating levers (). The actuating levers () facilitate the opening of the drinking valves (). Moreover, by way of the tubular actuating levers () extending into the water-collecting bowls (), the water passing out of the drinking valves () is directed specifically into he water-collecting bowls (), as a result of which splashing of water is avoided.
